wandfarben gestaltung
welcome to a new edition of the miwula news gaston has spent the past weeks to finish a large part of the rock-design for the allgã¤u, the transition from switzerland to the airport. here he is planning the further course of the design, together with chief model maker gerhard. it's an extensive and difficult task: at first, fly screen wire made out of metal is tacked to a wooden frame with a stapler. then the grid is put into shape and the modelmaking plaster is applied. one day later, the plaster is undone. with the use of much physical strength, often in difficult posture,
the rocks are formed and engraved with a carving knife. afterwards, the dried plaster is painted in different colours using wall paint. creating a realistic overall picture is crucial. here we will implement a bridge and over there stairs will go up. i still have to clean it up a little bit. of course, these rocks will be decorated with a few alpine huts or some mountain climbers. also, a small cave was made out of wood scraps to give our little guests an eventful view. this marks the first time that gaston works with plaster.
the result is quite presentable. while the model makers complete more and more buildings, the electronic technicians are busy with the lighting. recently we presented this giant swimming bath. leo has installed some inventive lighting fixtures in one section and is once again checking their functionality. here, too, many ideas are brought in, while great attention is paid to every little detail. well, nathalie built this beautiful swimming bath and i have the honour to illuminate it in a pretty way.
here on the wall you can see fishes that have received their own leds. we built some designer lamps, back here, for these individual wellness rooms. down here, in the sauna, she had a pretty clever idea: this is actually a seashell. we experimented a bit and found out that the use of a tiny led makes for quite a pretty lighting. after the lighting, the different figures are selected and mounted to the numerous baths, like this small illuminated jacuzzi. the custom-built gastronomic area gets its own tables… and chairs
of course, there will be lawn for sunbathing for our sun-seeking wunderland residents.3800:02:31 --> 00:02:36but there are still some types of plastics to test until the first water is about to flow. further models are almost completed, for example the big hardware store. the last details, like this gastronomic area, were manifactured and then illuminated by marcel. the new addition to our team is currently busy painting the individually crafted fluorescent tubes. these sophisticated tubes are made of hunfreds of leds. often combined in bigger bundles, they will later illuminate the hardware store. some details show how eventful such a shopping trip can turn out to be. almost like in real life. the recently shown supermarket, too, receives its final touches.
the last works are done to present it in the proper light. also this somewhat larger model, the car park for rental cars, is outfitted with lighting. in co-operation with a renowned rental-car company we have succeeded to create a replica of the building at the airport in hamburg. this little office, too, gets its own light. the bulk of these models will soon be set on the corresponding areas in front of the terminal area. batman and robin at work. superheroes under the airport area share the work, of course. for the carnival holidays our staff thought of an untypical idea for the northern part of germany:
why not bring carnival to the wunderland? whether it's mario and luigi, popeye, i don't know how i can make this face all day. snow white, a fat insect or our cat that disguised itself as a dog: numerous characters have taken over the work of our co-workers for two days and caused a lot of laughter.
at long last a little group shot as keep-sake. of course, carnival wouldn't be complete without some candy. a short while ago, dj bobo presented his new stage show in the miniatur wunderland. he even gave a small exclusive concert for this occasion in the old coffee exchange building in the historic warehouse district ("speicherstadt"). following strict guidelines, tina crafted a new dj bobo figurine. here, the singer gets his new stage outfit. and with that the new show of dj bobo also arrived on our layout and is accessible for every visitor via a press of the button. meanwhile on our airport, there's something new to discover almost every day, like these little windbreaker constructions.
elke is delicately piecing over 300 of these together to avoid that the aircrafts blow each other away. this service station for the fire engines is put together and refined by tina using different assembly kits. it is adjusted to fit the original design of its real counterpart at the hamburg airport. of course, the power supply for the airplanes on the ground is also important. that's why about one hundred aggregates are made. but that's ultimately just a part of the hand-made airport equipment we create in hundreds of hours of work.
since the wunderland exists, we have dreamed of compiling our own panini collector's album. now it is ready at last. in over 200 stickers the most popular details are found, the most beautiful night shots and even bonus coupon stickers. the collector's album and the stickers are available now in the wunderland, as well as in the wunderland online shop and in many kiosks and train station book stores all over germany. you can complete your collection with the help of a specifically for this purpose established trading exchange. after the implementation of the last panel we celebrated the top out of our airport. as one of the three building clients, gerrit thanked every participant:
every one of you contributed to the fact, that all the worries i have are constantly becoming smaller. bottom line is, i'm not an engineer, also not a building client or an architect. we had this idea, drew a design, thought about the main technical features and tried to realize this idea. as far as we came now, i'm sure the last pieces will also work. of course, he had the honour to hammer the last "nail". but here it's not a piece of iron but the last wooden panel to completely seal the surface of the airport. this event called for a drink and the glasses were properly thrown on the floor.
this is to a speedy opening of the airport knuffingen. and that was it for this month. thank you for your attention. until next time
