i love the paint because it's very simple but it's very special. it's texture is really nice, it's got a lot of subtlety to it. you can create a finish that has body to it. it's very expressive. you can create a finish that's very smooth, but you can also create a finish that has texture. the colour shimmers through somehow, it's like it has a personality of its own.
it's hardwearing, keeps the brush marks, it has a pleasing finish. you literally can make hundreds of colours because they mix so beautifully together. it's like she is reading my mind, these are the colours i really like. because of the choice of colours that she uses, they mix and they stay clean and bright. rustic, gorgeous, 'gorgeousness' is my word (laugh) what i'm going to do is paint this whole staircase because it's very dark and brown and i'd like to bring the oak grain out. absolutely any surface, slap the paint on and it sticks.
instant gorgeous results. cement... concrete, wood, metal... brass, plastic. varnish things. i can use it on glass. i can even use it outside, i can paint the outside of my house with it. it does go on so many places. i think what annie is doing is providing the paints and the colours and ideas... and saying, here you are, go and do it. and i think this is what people want to do these days, they want to be involved.
this is a french bedroom and i want to do it in a kind of swedish way the french influenced the swedes in the 18th century hugely i wanted to do it quite light and i love the blues and greys and a little bit of gold which might look very nice it's very easy to apply, very easy to use very tough, very durable you can paint a piece without doing a lot of preparation and the next thing, you are wondering around your house saying, what can we paint next? it's just magic stuff annie's paint is naturally very low in voc's, she's very fussy about her requirments.
they are all completely non toxic, they use non hazardous pigments. pretty much everything is organic. these paints are virtually odourless. painting in a workshop together, there is no smell, which is something you dont get with other paints. she has wonderful ideas. she is constantly inspired, and as a result, constantly inspiring. when i first started, she was the guru. everything she touches is gorgeous, she has universal appeal.
she is known throughout the world she has overtwo million books in print. she is an artist really. she creates a wold of possibilites for everyone she comes into contact with. i don't think there's anyone that can produce something that annie produces, because annie is this brilliant artist and that is what she does. are there any other paints that give you the same results as annie sloan? i have not found them. in the last six months the amount she has purchased has trebled. people love it and they want to talk about it and share it.
it does come with a health warning from me... it is addictive! it makes you happy, it totally makes you happy.
