design bad lampen
hey folks! great you're watching again! today we've a bonus video on top of the usable friday video that's because auxbeam sent me a package light the way, thank you for purchasing i haven't purchased it they gave it to me to test it and to make you a review i'm curious this is not a commercial, i will give you a proper review
so if i think this is crap, i will tell look at that! that one's for later today it's about this package this is a conversion set you can exchange your regular headlights with led so your old car has the same fancy lights as all new cars a nice compact design it doesn't need additional electronics i see three led bulbs
in the back there's a little fan it's looking good, i think this is very easy to install let's see, overhere i have the instructions this is good to read; remove the socket that would be this one that's easy install and fix the socket inside the headlight insert the lamp body this will speak for itself
here's the test vehicle it's a ford granada from 1983 under the hood it has a 2.9l from a scorpio i installed this engine myself i use to drive bangers with that engine i had it sitting in stock, before the place burned down i'm checking the instructions carefully i've noticed something overhere you see the socket
i can remove it from the bulb it fits this way.. but it also fits like this that means that it's possible to fit you lamp upside down one or two of these leds are for highbeam and another one is for low beam and the plug stays the same so if you mount it the wrong way, the focal of your lights is not good i will test later what happens if you do so
let's get started; to exchange the light bulb on a granada you have to remove the front bumper remove the grille the fender.. and then.. just joking, that won't be necessary probably you have to on your modern fancy car i can reach it like this
it doesn't fit the bracket is too big the lamp fits too deep in the bracket it can't reach it and not for a little bit.. it should slide for 5mm more in there in order to fit so i cannot fix it 1:1 i have to modify those brackets a bit overhere i have a separate headlight you see, it collides there, with that metal ring
the original bulb is more slim there so you don't have this issue i've found a solution click; yes damn.. nice little things, they look good too bad you won't see that once installed that will do, let's fix them in the car i will power them up before they're mounted that noise is the fuel pump
you see the fan running so.. better not look into that, very bright that's more like a candle light this is getting hot too this one doesn't high beam.. i don't know if the viewers at home put on their sunglasses.. but you'll need it first the plastic socket then this one
and then this one so; click clack, finished that was a piece of cake.. if the brackets would have fit from the start it was no work at all fancy box.. good! i can return this one we've wait till darkness and they work this is good, it's on low beam now
you should have light on the bottom and above it's dark now i can demonstrate what will happen if you mount the lamp upside down see; that's no good you have this spot and the light spreads there too so it's important to fit those in the right way like this okay; let's go testing i put a mark overthere you see a red light, that's a safety triangle
i will walk from there toward the car and test when i will be visible again this is lowbeam on the left you see me allready this is much better than the halogen with the halogen you can see me now this is a big difference now high beam halogen is more clear
you see the triangle better and you see me running with the led light you can see me now and not that clear halogen light seems to get further than led it's clear on both views now led light has a nice bright color low beam high beam no beam
i heard something.. this is a halogen lamp that's the high beam glow spiral and as you can see that's perfect centered inside the bulb the position of that spiral to the reflector is very important i will explain later this is the led lamp none of these leds is centered in the lamp body and therefore i think the position of the light point regarding the reflector is not correct
this is the reflector here's the light for high beam the light beams goes like this you can see the light beams go parallel the angle and the curve of the reflector are exactly matched with the position of the light point of the high beam glow spiral if this focal point is not correct i will draw the headlight and the light beam
instead of going straight it exits under an angle, i draw this overdone to make it more clear these beams exit the headlight spread therefore you get a more wide beam but it won't reach very far you can see it too, they light more into the trees and to the side and not very far if you like to have a set of these leds check the link in the description
