hello, i’m johannes dommermuth and today we’ll be talking about patio construction using prostilt, and indeed about two different situations that are a bit tricky. the first thing is when it comes to facing steps and platforms and this involves din-compliant installation of a drainage line in the transition between the patio and the living area. yes, when you build a patio and you want to create a step or platform as it were, then we have a situation where, if we have the terrace decking up here and the riser here, there is a gap, and this gap has to be faced. i’ll show you how we do this. to start with, we always have the support and we have to prepare the support so we can put in the brackets that you see here.
we take the cover off the top here and then we have the lower part. i’m just taking a fastening clamp here and clamping the lower part firmly. i take a saw and make a clear line, then cut the foot off along this line. this is how it looks after i’ve done that. if you don't want to tackle this yourself we offer it as a service; we’ll cut the feet for you and make it look neat. next, after i’ve cut it off, i need my lower clamp, and that’s the bottom prostilt clip and you’ll see we have to cut it off so there is the appropriate clearance here. then i put my cover back on the top, and the joint bars are in the way when i try to put this clamp on at the top.
if i just put it back on the top they’re in the way, so i bend them both. and now i can place the clamp at the top. and you can see what i’ve done here so far on the model. here’s the bottom clip, i’ve cut off the adjustable foot and i’ve removed the clips at the top here. so the situation here, with a larger adjustable foot, is shown up here small. now i’ll take the camera and show you in detail on the model how the assembly looks. we have the pad down below with an aluminium lining so there’s no plasticiser migration. i’ll lift it a bit, it’s now glued, but you can see the aluminium lining.
we’ll carry on here; here’s the cut off foot. i’ll try to go in here. you can see the clamp below, the clip below and then the clip at the top, which holds the riser here in this model structure. and here’s our model again that i’ve prepared. ok, so when you’ve placed the clamp, you have to face this gap, and there are moulded parts for this. we have a corner and it looks like this, and there’s a facer for it here made of stainless steel, carefully brushed so it looks great
and we have a facing profile, also made of stainless steel. and it’s really very, very easy, you go in, the corner has already been inserted, you take the facing profile and simply put it across the lug and then stick it down on the lug with a suitable adhesive, with a few spots on the natural stone or the tile, and then it’s done. with this type of facing you have quite different options of course. you can form very attractive steps, you can create different levels on the patio, you can build in great design elements, and it’s excellent because you have a clean solution. it looks very classy in stainless steel.
that’s all for today. thank you for your attention. should you have any questions, i’ll be pleased to answer them. write something in the comments box, give me a thumbs up, and subscribe to our channel. thank you and see you soon.
